Why it's important not to call a spade a shovel

The entire purpose of postmodernism is to redefine. This has now become a major issue in the West, lacking even the ability to define a phenomenon we resort to either denying that a phenomenon exists or to call it something which doesn’t accurately describe it. Joe Rogan made the mistake of calling Justin Trudeau a communist. https://torontosun.com/entertainment/sun-readers-have-a-lot-to-say-about-joe-rogans-canada-is-communist-take

“They gotta get rid of that guy,” Rogan said. “He’s gross. He’s a sketchy guy. He’s got some f—ing shaky deals. I would like to see where the money is coming from. Why do you want everyone to get injected every four months? We don’t need that anymore.”

A tweet by the Toronto Sun about Rogan’s comments has drawn over 6,000 retweets and 34,000 likes in four days.

Many readers said Rogan had “hit the nail on the head.”

Now obviously Joe Rogan is bombastic, that is a given and is likely the reason he is followed so widely by those who like his style. One thing he does not do is talk down to his audience which is yet another reason for his incredible success. Do I watch him? Not often since I find his rhetoric to be low brow and silly but that is not to imply he didn’t have a point. The real issue with what he stated is that Rogan was unable to define accurately the variety of totalitarian belief held by Trudeau. Trudeau obviously is not a traditional Marxist as first described by Marx and Engels which was then  reworked into the countless versions of Marxism employed by Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Castro, on ad infinitum. But he is something else, something less obvious but no less insidious, for Trudeau is a Cultural Marxist. He is an advocate of corrupting institutions from within rather than resorting to violent revolution from without. That Joe Rogan was unable to define, but it still doesn’t mean that the ideology which motivates Trudeau doesn’t have its origins in the ideas first proposed by Marx and Engels.

A few weeks ago, the whole media went into a frenzy because Pierre Poilievre criticized Global News. Justin Trudeau threatened to use POLICE against journalists for asking him questions, and the media is silent. 🤔And the Progressives in the CPC are tearing their party apart fighting the genuine conservative position of Pierre Poilievre. They have joined the WOKE elite on the far left in “Poilievre Derangement Syndrome’ rejecting out of hand any return to fiscal sensibility and limited constitutional government. But how is this possible? Why are so few able to define the source of their own beliefs? Ignorance is rampant. And there is a war on words. I want to encourage all of you to learn to speak and write precisely because we are watching our sacred institutions being deconstructed right in front of our eyes as we are being told that to recognize this is equivalent to being a conspiracy theorist.

In an article from the Toronto Sun dated July 20th, 2022, entitled Monty Python legend John Cleese rips woke culture for 'disastrous' effect on comedy. Cleese stated, “I think it’s particularly worrying at the moment because you can only create in an atmosphere of freedom, where you’re not checking everything you say critically before you move on,” Cleese said.

“A lot of comedians now are sitting there and when they think of something, they say something like, “Can I get away with it? I don’t think so. So and so got into trouble, and he said that, oh, she said that.” You see what I mean? And that’s the death of creativity.”

“You can do the creation and then criticize it, but you can’t do them at the same time. So if you’re worried about offending people and constantly thinking of that, you are not going to be very creative. So I think it has a disastrous effect,” Cleese said.

Even Cleese had his mic taken away once for a remark about historical events surrounding slavery and the British.

Cleese had said England was owed “reparations” from both Italy and France, referring to the historic invasions of the Romans, and 1,000 years later by the Normans under William the Conqueror, according to the Daily Mail.

If WOKE spells death to comedy and someone as traditionally left leaning as Cleese is warning about its disastrous effect of WOKEISM, it is fair to state that the manner in which it is affecting politics has far more disastrous consequences. We live in an age where political debate has become impossible because we are permitting enemies of free speech to frame what       questions may be asked and when they may be asked. If that alone isn’t reminiscent of the worst totalitarianism of the 20th Century than you are sadly wanting in your education of what constitutes a truly free and tolerant society.

Everything that Trudeau does is crafted for photo ops. There is no substance merely pretence as we watch the economy implode, our energy policies fail, and our foreign policies result in supporting authoritarian regimes which are antithetical to our very way of life. But there is something far worse, this pathological thinking has infected the entire Western World. Our elected representatives and bureaucrats appear to have stolen a page out of the same playbook. One which was written by Aldous Huxley rather than the more overt kind of dystopia written about by George Orwell who himself was a socialist. Frankly, I have never figured out how someone who found such fault with socialism in practice could have become a socialist himself since assigning such massive, centralized authority to the state has invariably led to tyranny. But this question raises a matter for another day. What we do know is this, for the first time in human history enormous, centralized power is being accumulated by a cooperating global elite who write about reassigning our wealth into their hands. The fact that they write about it and speak about it at their global forums on economics is de facto proof.

Then there is my own naivety. I once was a huge fan of roots music, an erstwhile musician and promoter of shows who hosted performances because I admired those whose talents far exceeded that of my own assuming that their talents equated intelligence. I believed that since they were so aligned with free thinking and individual expression that they would be the last to swallow an enormous global power grab by wealthy elites who promote Postmodern thought and Cultural Marxism. Beliefs which would require censoring those who actually do love freedom. Yet just the other day one of Canada’s most renowned roots rockers had the temerity to confront me for enjoying time at my trailer here on the Gatineau River telling me that if things were so bad that this said enjoyment wouldn’t be possible. This idiotic personal attack after two- and one-half years of destroying the ability of musicians to perform live due to lockdowns which did little to nothing to mitigate the pandemic. I am completely convinced that Cleese is absolutely correct but that the consequences of Cancel Culture and WOKENESS are far more dire than John Cleese warned about. Yes, maybe Trudeau isn’t a Marxist in the traditional sense but the government he leads provably and without doubt promotes the worst kinds of authoritarian censorship as they pursue policies that have resulted in economic ruin and the death of limited, representative constitutional government under parliamentary oversight. And fuck you Jack, you’ve let them destroy your own profession just like Cleese warned.

Go to the source to discover why it is so toxic

The traditional left vs right political spectrum which originated during the time of the French Revolution does little to define the actual nature of the range of political opinion and how this impacts civil society and our system of governance today. If we allow people who exist at odds with our philosophical position to determine the nature of what questions may be asked in a debate is to already have conceded defeat to our opponents. Toxic ideologies don’t welcome or permit reasoned and honest open discourse. Those possessed of such idea pathogens are trained to ask leading questions aimed at confirming their own ideological biases. By allowing them to frame the discussion we prevent the necessary analysis of the problems which require solving. This necessitates independence of thought and respect for individual perspectives eschewed by social collectivists since their ideological position rejects line of inquiry which might question their sanctioned narrative.

Which leads us to the witch hunts happening in politics here in Canada today. Tamara Lich remains a political prisoner of the Trudeau government while a murderer who was released on bail reoffends. Yes, imprisoning a Metis grandmother who objects to Trudeau's abuses while allowing a murderer to roam free to recommit violent crime is exactly what this government sanctions. Without the Rule of Law Canada is no longer Canada.

Then we have the pillaring and mischaracterising of Pierre Poilievre which some pundits are referring to as “Poilievre Derangement Syndrome”. Well, what can we expect from those who still support a government which is cratering the Canadian economy while destroying our energy sector and is robbing us of God given rights guaranteed in the Charter? But watching the conservatives deal with the so-called progressive element within their own party is evidence of the complete lack of conservative principles held by many in the CPC elite. Worse than this, the entire conservative political spectrum is twisting itself into knots attempting to answer questions from postmodern progressives. Questions which are aimed at turning conservatives into radical postmodern progressive ideologues. Politics here in Canada has entered the perfect political storm where few, if any, are asking the correct questions. Happily, Pierre Poilievre has remained relatively uncorrupted by this and frankly I wonder how he has managed to do so given who are running for leadership alongside of him.

But where to next? How do we steer a course for a ship already floundering on the shoals of economic ruin with a sea of debt washing over its decks and its hull split through? A country deliberately divided into pieces by its own government leaving only the factions of a riven nation. Every institution which we could once count upon to protect us from tyranny has now become the source of said tyranny.

So, what are Trudeau's motives and where does his ideology originate? He is obviously incapable of original thought. Surely there must be puppet strings attached to this marionette causing him to dance this spastically with national ruin. As soon as his unworkable policies are questioned by the opposition and the press his puppet masters send him to stage left into seclusion where he can hide from the nation while refusing, as he and his cabinet always do, to answer questions which might address our ongoing national crises.

There is a reason Trudeau has expressed open admiration for China’s basic dictatorship. "Truth" to a socialist means creating propaganda which can be used to advance their never-ending need for revolution. Ideology, sociology, psychology, science, statistical measuring, media, entertainment, medicine, pharmacology, energy, and now crop production must be made subservient to the cause of the revolution. We have undergone a Neo-Marxist restructuring of society from within the very institutions we entrusted to keep us free, and it all happened on our watch while we sat complacently by allowing our way of life, our culture, our faith, and our families to be undermined.

I recall being at a friend's gig in Thorold Ontario where I spoke with Hans Skott-Myhre, who was at that time a tenured professor at Brock University, a saxophonist, and a Marxist. I asked him on this occasion if he felt a revolution would be required to bring about his desire to create a Marxist society, and he answered me frankly and plainly that he believed it could be accomplished via the long march through our institutions. Hans was absolutely correct, and I largely ignored what I ought to have taken as a warning.

I subscribe to Academia.edu where I receive peer reviewed academic papers on the most murderous ideology of which humanity has ever conceived. I do so for two reasons:

i): If I'm going to criticize an ideology, then I need to understand why it's worthy of criticism, and specifically why it has earned my own execration.

ii): To prove to others that when I write and speak about Cultural Marxism and Postmodernism that I'm not engaging in conspiracy theorizing. These ideologies are real and pose an existential threat to Western civilization since these doctrines influence everything from the Humanities to STEM. Moreover, to provide concrete evidence that we are witnessing an ongoing ideological war for the West funded by our taxes and foisted on us by a corrupted radicalized Academy

From the Academy Postmodernism and Cultural Marxist Critical Theory has infected broader society and our government. Since they have called for a Cultural Revolution, those of us who care about such things as the Rule of Law, limited constitutional government, open discourse, and the integrity of the institutions which defend civil society, we must become the counter-revolution. I am saddened, indeed deeply disturbed, that Christians in particular have been so gullible and naïve in the face of a Neo-Marxist takedown of what was once known as the true north strong and free, for we are no longer that, nor have we been so for some time. Time enough for it to have gone unnoticed by as many as it has. There is only one way to address a WOKE world, wake up!

“Some of us did tell you so at the time... and were ridiculed or ignored. Well, told ya so.”, Dr. John Robson

We told you so!

In a Tweet from Dr. John Robson today he stated, “Some of us did tell you so at the time... and were ridiculed or ignored. Well, told ya so.”, referring to an article written by Matthew Lau who is an Adjunct Scholar for the Fraser Institute originally published in the Toronto Sun Toronto on Sun, June 29, 2022 and republished by the Frazer Institute entitled; Politicians made horrific error closing schools during COVID

“Another schoolyear has come to an end. Eventually, there must be a full accounting of the extraordinary restrictions of economic and civil liberties that governments imposed in the past two-plus years to mitigate the pandemic. The evidence—what was justifiable, what was not—is not all in but is everywhere piling up, and one fact is becoming increasingly clear: the politicians who ordered the closing of schools, and the activists who cheered them on, made a horrific error.

The most culpable politicians in Canada are in the Ontario government, which closed schools for a cumulative 29 weeks during various stages of the pandemic—longer, as the Ontario Science Advisory Table noted, than all other provinces and most European countries. This despite the fact it was widely known since the beginning that children have a high level of immunity to the coronavirus. And that according to widely available data, including in the relatively early stages of the pandemic, that schools are not the “super-spreaders” of disease some fearmongers claimed.

In fact, a new study published in Health Affairs concludes that closing Ontario’s schools in December 2020, with some regions not reopening until February 2021, reduced the number of estimated coronavirus cases in the province by only 0.08 per cent, a minimal result that lacks statistical significance.

This is not an isolated finding. UNICEF reported in November 2020 that “data from 191 countries collected from February to September 2020 show no consistent association between school reopening status and COVID-19 infection rates” while noting that the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control concluded that “child-to-child transmission in schools was uncommon and not the primary cause of COVID-19 in children who were infected during the time they attended school.”

In the United States, Brown University economist Emily Oster and other researchers collected data on coronavirus cases in classrooms. By September 2020 their data covered 100,000 students learning in-person; by February 2021 it covered about 12 million students, about half learning in-person. As Oster wrote a year into the pandemic, “in the early rounds of data collection, it became clear schools were not super-spreaders. This has been reinforced again and again in our data, in other data, in the lived experience of the last year.”

Similarly, authors of a working paper circulated by the National Bureau for Economic Research in February 2021 examined data from Michigan and Washington and concluded, after controlling for relevant factors, the relationship between in-person learning and increased coronavirus cases was “close to zero on average.” And a Germany study from October 2020 found schools reopening after summer break did not increase coronavirus cases.

What was the cost of school closures, which achieved essentially zero public health benefit? A massive hit to the social and educational development of children, widespread distress for parents, significant economic disruption and more.

A U.S. study found steep test score declines due to school closures, disproportionately affecting the most disadvantaged children. A survey of Ontario parents found about three-quarters believed their child fell behind in school during the pandemic. The school closures were temporary, but many of the effects—including reduced educational development—will be long-lasting.

As time passes, the evidence on the costs and benefits of coronavirus restrictions will continue to accumulate. But it’s already clear that the politicians responsible for school closures made a horrific error and they should be held to account.”

https://www.fraserinstitute.org/article/politicians-made-horrific-error-closing-schools-during-covid

And although this piece reveals the irreversible damage done to our children from closing schools it also hints at the economic damage of lockdowns. Damages which will have grave consequences on international and regional economies for decades to come. Yeah, we told ya so alright! Yes, with no pleasure whatsoever we warned you, yet few would listen to our factual assessment of state policies which were destined to fail.

Today we are witnessing skyrocketing inflation and interest rates as a result of printing money out of thin air, a global energy crisis brought on by insane green energy policies that literally contradict the laws of the conservation of matter and energy applied in concert with idiotic foreign policies. Yet the West pursued energy dependency on illiberal, authoritarian regimes to supply us with gas and oil rather than ethically mining and refining our own resources. The war in the Ukraine, the emerging Russian-China coalition, which has resulted from unworkable foreign policies, is placing the entire free world at risk of war with totalitarian powers that have leveraged our dependence on them to destabilize global hegemony in their favour. At home we have an ever-increasing centralized government featuring a bureaucratic war on the free movement of people and goods. In Holland there is even a war on the farming industry during a time of food shortages as demonstrated by the current enormous tractor protest there. The Dutch government has claimed there is too much nitrogen in the soil, the very fertilizer which drives the engine of crop production during a food shortage! Well, I could go on and on. What we are witnessing on a global scale is a level of statism which would make Hitler, Lenin, Stalin, and Mao green with envy over the coordinated global takedown of free markets and economic well-being.

Most often, however, it is the little things that make me pause and wonder how on earth people can be so enamoured of our corrupt political class which exists in the defiance of common sense and the Rule of Law. The small annoying incidences which make me increasingly aware of how completely deluded the “hangers-on” are who exist on the fringes of the current powerful class of moralizing elitists and therefore are dependent on their largess and march in lockstep to their ideological delusion.

Just the other night I discovered yet another reason to detest this Godless capital city which detests constitutional limits on government and peaceful lawful protests. Anne-Siri and I went to our favourite roadhouse and took a booth. Seated in the booth next to us were two WOKE ideologues who were complaining bitterly to a sympathizing waitress about the U.S. Supreme Court's decision regarding Roe versus Wade. I have several thoughts regarding their faux moralizing hubris and ignorance.

Firstly, the overturning of Roe versus Wade places the control of abortion into the hands of each State as a recognition of State's rights guaranteed in the U.S. Constitution. It therefore does not prevent women from accessing an abortion.

Secondly, Trudeau's government has repeatedly exceeded its legal constitutional mandate to govern and is using our police as its personal STASI to enforce arbitrary dictates on Canadians. This blatant fact wasn't even on their radar which only proves how wilfully blind they were.

Thirdly, I couldn't believe the level of zeal these women expressed couched in self-righteous arrogant virtue over the right to end a human life.

As I sat next to these feminazi ghouls, I lost my appetite.

They were the same species of deluded women who scream my body my choice when murdering the unborn yet have insisted that everyone receive the mRNA inoculation by approving whole heartedly that our federal government should enforce this intrusive protocol on us in defiance of our Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

They served to make my dining experience yet another reminder of why I hate living in this Neo-Marxist city of WOKE ideologues who are far too dull witted to understand the difference between American State's rights and our abusive centralized system of governance that abhors local democracy and personal autonomy.

Worse, they didn't care to understand the law and its proper application. They just march in lockstep to the witless dolt PM of ours who had the temerity to lecture the U.S. Supreme Court how to interpret their Constitutional law while he ignores the very Charter laws his father's government repatriated to Canada!

A pox be upon this lawless generation! And yes, we told you so. When eloquent academics are dedicating their entire careers to warning us where we are headed ideologically and that government policies based on ideological possession can only result in societal ruin, we are obliged to heed their legitimate concerns!
